Why do people hang ornaments on Christmas trees? ›

'On a garland, as shown above, this can be done by connecting the ornaments with florists' wire, twine, ribbon, chenille stems (whichever you have to hand), though on a tree, I tend to use thin ribbon for an extra flash of color.

Group baubles instead of spacing them out evenly around the tree. Not only will this create a fuller, more visually appealing look but it's also a way to fill in gaps between branches.
